- This class is an general English oral communication class for second-year students.
- Course standards are set using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, more specifically the “Can Do” statements.
- It is assumed that students entering this class will be at or near the B1 level.
- By the end of the year, students will have attained an B2 level in the areas of listening comprehension and speaking.
- Students will be required to demonstrate their proficiency in an exit exam based on oral production in a discussion setting,
- Requiring a 75% average, specifically in the following areas of oral proficiency:
- I can . . .
- 1) relate details of unpredictable occurrences, e.g. an accident;
- 2) can describe the personal significance of events and experiences in detail;
- 3) give clear , detailed descriptions and presentations, with appropriate highlighting of significant points, and relevant supporting detail
